Display Details

The HandEra 330 has an eye-popping 240x320 QVGA high resolution screen, putting an end to the perpetual squint most handheld users have adopted. It has 16 grey scale color, for improved readability on the 2.2 x 2.9 inch (55 x 73 mm) screen.

Even better, this handheld enables you to rotate the screen image 360 degrees. You can read longer spreadsheet rows, and see eBooks more easily in landscape mode.

A variety of other features unique to the new handheld enhance usability, including better blue-green backlighting, legible inking graffiti, and a broad choice of font sizes.

Expansion Slots

There are two (count 'em) expansion slots. One supports industry-standard CompactFlash Type I/II cards. The other supports Secure Digital (SD) or MultiMediaCards. You can use these slots to increase the device memory up to 1 GB (gigabyte) and to add a variety of accesories.

Voice Recorder/Audio

The HandEra 330 features the only amplified speaker available among Palm Powered devices for superior sound quality. Its one-button easy-to-use operation makes it a snap to capture and play back information.

Form Factor

This powerhouse device is by no means the slimmest handheld available. It has a metallic case and measures 4.7 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches (121 x 81 x 17 mm). It weighs in at 5.9 oz (167 g) with AAA alkaline batteries and 5.4 oz (153 g) with the optional lithium-ion batteries.

HandEra 330 Roundup

So, what does it all mean? This handheld has all the power and versatility that serious users have been demanding. The combination of the easy-to-use Palm OS, the broad software offerings for that platform, and advanced features offers unparalleled flexibility.

This isn't a skinny device, though. If form factor is high on your list of must-haves, and flexible expansion is low, I'd suggest you look at one of the stylish offerings from Handspring or Palm. If, on the other hand, you want a smokin' powerhouse in your Palm, the HandEra 330 is here.
